MEET OUR TEAM.
Dr. Erika and Dr.Kyle
Dr. Erika is the heart and soul behind Grounded Roots Chiropractic.
She founded the practice with the vision of creating a calm, welcoming space where families feel heard, supported, and empowered to care for their health at the root.
Dr. Erika grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology – Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. During her undergraduate years, she was a three-sport collegiate athlete, competing in indoor track, outdoor track, and cross country. While running competitively, she experienced several injuries and minor setbacks that led her to rely on chiropractic care to support her performance and recovery.
At the time, Dr. Erika was already seeing a chiropractor for chronic headaches she had experienced since childhood. Through her own care, she learned that in order for the body to perform and heal optimally, the nervous system must be supported. During this period, she also had the opportunity to begin working in a chiropractic office while still in undergrad. It was there that she witnessed firsthand the profound impact chiropractors can have on individuals, families, and entire communities — and she found her passion for serving others and empowering people to reach their health goals.
Dr. Erika went on to pursue her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While in school, she deepened her understanding of the body’s incredible ability to self-heal and the critical role the nervous system plays in that process. She also completed additional training and seminars focused on caring for pregnant moms and babies, further shaping her passion for prenatal, pediatric, and family chiropractic care.
Dr. Kyle is the behind-the-scenes support and third chiropractor at Grounded Roots Chiropractic.
As Dr. Erika’s husband, Dr. Kyle plays an integral role in helping the practice run smoothly and supporting its continued growth. You’ll see him in the office periodically, offering his knowledge and care where it’s needed most.
Dr. Kyle’s journey into chiropractic began after a loved one was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Witnessing the dramatic improvements in her quality of life through chiropractic care sparked a deep belief in the body’s ability to adapt and heal when the nervous system is properly supported — a belief that continues to guide his approach to health and care today.
Outside of the office, Dr. Erika and Dr. Kyle enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, traveling throughout the western states, and making memories with their beautiful baby girl, Miss Eisley, and their dog, Axis.
Dr. Kara
Dr. Kara began her academic journey at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, where she attended on both volleyball and golf scholarships. As a dual-sport collegiate athlete, she competed in both volleyball and golf throughout her undergraduate years, developing a deep appreciation for performance, movement, and the resilience of the human body.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Kara went on to pursue her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic. It was there that she further strengthened her passion for helping people reach their full potential.
Dr. Kara was drawn to chiropractic because she has always wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. She believes in helping individuals live their best lives and reach goals they may not have thought were possible. Supporting patients as they regain confidence in their bodies and improve their overall well-being is what fuels her purpose in practice.
She believes that when the nervous system is supported and the body is functioning well, people can show up more fully for their families, careers, and communities.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kara enjoys spending time with her two dogs, two cats, and many fish. She has a true love for animals and embraces her “animal lover” side at home.
